Online therapy allows clients access to expert therapists without the costs and inconvenience of travel. Online therapy is available for individuals, families and groups who can work with highly trained, Oxford University educated therapists from the comfort of their home. Online therapy sessions are strictly confidential.
We have been practicing online therapy for many years and have found it to be effective for a wide range of issues. While there are differences to meeting in person, a secure and meaningful relationship is developed in order to work through complex issues.
Online therapy works in much the same way as traditional therapy. Our therapists take care to ensure there is a good working relationship and environment. It is important for the client to try to find a time and place that is free from intrusion and interruption and to feel comfortable in the space that they have available for the session. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to find out more. We are always happy to discuss and explain these options in more detail.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy over Skype and telephone is confidential, and as in all forms of practice, we follow up to date UKCP and BACP guidelines. Research has shown good efficacy of Skype and telephone psychotherapy for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, as well as for other issues such as addiction, relationship difficulties and emotional conflict. You can read example studies here and here.
